To the Editor:
Politically, I consider myself to be a Conservative. I have read the Constitution of the United States of America and it seems to say the purpose of the Federal Government, to me, is to protect my God-given rights:?among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I see nothing to justify the laws, rules, regulations which confront me everywhere I look. I see nothing to authorize the grants, subsidies and the funding that are part of most any project that is newsworthy. I see nothing to even hint at the giant Federal bureaucracy that is making taxation the burden it has become.
As a Conservative, I believe the least government is the best government. This puts the burden of the responsibility of human relations on the ordinary citizen himself and not on the following of numerous regulations and rules.
It is my understanding the Liberals and now the Progressives believe the exact opposite. They believe the average citizen is not capable of making the many decisions that would have to be made if there were not the myriad rules and regulations we have today.
To simplify:?Democrats are Liberals and Republicans are Conservatives. Too many Republicans are Rinos:?Republicans in name only. A Moderate is a Liberal in sheep's clothing.
