MALLARD -- Services for Gladys A. McCullough of Mallard are Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Mallard.
Burial will follow in Rush Lake Cemetery. The Harris Funeral Home in Mallard is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the church.
Gladys McCullough died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at the Emmetsburg Care Center, at age 104.
Gladys A. (Forsyth) McCullough, the daughter of Thomas A. and Anna C. (Sonnicksen)?Forsyth, was born June 2, 1907, in Burlington, CO. She began school in Ortago, KS, and in 1914 moved with her family to Sac County, Iowa.
On Aug. 11, 1927, Gladys was united in marriage with Charles McCullough. The couple farmed near Fonda and in 1945 moved north of Mallard. In 1970, they retired and moved to town in Mallard. Charles died in 1985.
Gladys was a resident of the Emmetsburg Care Center since November 2007. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, crocheting and family gatherings. Gladys was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mallard and was active in the circles of the church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Ted Larson of Mallard; four grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 28 great, great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McCullough was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; grandson, Mark Larson; and, a sister and three brothers.
