RUTHVEN -- Funeral service for Mildred J. Taylor of Ruthven was held Saturday, April 14, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven. Pastor Tom Summerfield officiated.
Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven was in charge of arrangements.
Mildred Jean Taylor, daughter of Herman and Christina (Krambeck) Schmidt, was born Dec. 31, 1926, northwest of Everly. She attended Country School and graduated from Everly High School.
On Feb. 15, 1950, Millie was united in marriage to Archie Taylor in Everly. To this union two daughters were born.
Millie was employed at Aalfs Manufacturing for several years. She also worked at R&R Grocery and sold Stanley Home Products and Tupperware.
Millie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven and American Legion Auxiliary. Millie looked forward to her Red Hat events and also enjoyed attending Waist Aways each week.
Millie passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, at the age of 85.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Christina Schmidt; a brother, Harvey Schmidt; and a sister, Luella Hartmann.
She is survived by her husband, Archie of Ruthven; her daughters, Diane Nitz and her husband, Dave, of Tama, and Rita Schacherer and her husband, Joe, of Knoxville; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
