A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Wernimont of Ayrshire was Monday, April 23, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ayrshire. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Ayrshire.
Marie Wernimont was born Jan. 29, 1920 in Halbur, the daughter of Henry and Kathryn (Muhlbauer) Riesselman. She attended Halbur schools.
On Feb. 12, 1947, Marie was united in marriage to Bill Wernimont at St. Augustus Catholic Church in Halbur. To this union, four children were born.
Marie and Bill moved to a farm west of Ayrshire where they made their permanent home. Marie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ayrshire. She loved flowers, gardening, cooking, crocheting and playing cards. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family and friends.
On Wednesday, April 18, Marie passed away at Westwood Nursing Home in Sioux City. She was 92.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol Reinert of Sioux City; two grandchildren: Jonathan Reinert (Kim) and Jalisa Reinert all of Sioux City; three great-grandchildren: Carley, Chance and Arraya; five brothers: Lawrence Riesselman (Ada) of Carroll, Walt Riesselman of Vail, Andy Riesselman (JoAnn) of Carroll, Leonard Riesselman (Donna) of Halbur, and Vernon Riesselman (Betty) of Halbur; and three sisters: Regina Frischmeyer of Glidden, Alice Christiansen of Denison, and Kathryn Curnyn (Bob) of Denison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; three children: Joan, Danial and James; and three brothers: Herbert, Vince and Henry.
