Funeral service for Johnnie W. Mulder of Emmetsburg is at 1:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Nicholas Thackery will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.
Johnnie William Mulder, son of Helen and William Mulder, was born on July 24, 1955, in Emmetsburg. He attended school in Emmetsburg, graduating in 1973. He then enrolled in the small engines program at the Emmetsburg Community College and worked part time for a local electrician.
Health problems forced him to quit school and he then worked for Ted's Super Value as manager of the dairy department. Johnnie was also employed at the Emmetsburg Country Club.
Johnnie was an avid supporter of the Emmetsburg High School Athletic program, traveling to many out of town games. He also enjoyed playing Black Jack at Wild Rose Casino.
Johnnie passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home in Emmetsburg at the age of 56.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Nelson, and her husband, Jerry of Battle Lake, MN; three nephews; eight great nieces and great nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins; and many friends.
