I would like to take this opportunity to give my personal thanks to all the people that work and strive to improve the wonderful city of Emmetsburg. I am aware that these improvements have not happened by themselves. It is a combined effort of many dedicated and selfless residents who want to see the town they call home reach its full potential. It takes many positive, thoughtful, and involved citizens to make a difference in our community. These people work hard to make our city a fun and thriving community that many families are proud to call home.
I would also like to point out a problem that we have, a problem that seems to occur in most cities:?The negative attitude of stubborn people who are afraid of change. These people always seem to be against any positive improvements. This negative attitude threatens to keep this city down. Their pessimism threatens to keep this city from progressing forward. Those that actively oppose change, without any new ideas or solutions to counter their negativity lead us nowhere. They actively oppose change without any ideas or solution of their own. Their negativity backed with inaccurate information threatens to spread like wildfire, and undermine the efforts of those that have tirelessly worked to move our community forward.
We need to look out for Emmetsburg's best intentions and keep it thriving. I ask my fellow residents to try to ignore the negativity and stay positive. Every person who cares enough to put out effort to improve the community or supports its improvement is greatly appreciated. Together we can make our city a better place for ourselves and future generations to come. We need to not let negativity bring us down. Most of the community is thrilled and excited with the new improvements and thank the people who worked so hard to bring about these changes.
We have a lot going for us in Emmetsburg. However, we need to continue to grow and build on our positive features. Progress is a good thing, not a threat. We need to look at the big picture and stay focused. Staying positive can be tough, but if we can all try our best things will get better. Remember it's not only our future, but the next generation's future as well.
