Graettinger-Terril Celebrating Homecoming

GRAETTINGER Homecoming 2012 is approaching at Graettinger-Terril and plans for the celebration have been finalized. The annual celebration runs Sept 18-21 and culminates with the Homecoming football game against CALLatimer on Friday night at Rod Hough Field in Graettinger.

The Homecoming week will get underway on Tuesday with "Backwards and Inside Out" Day. Various activities will take place during the day, including the annual dodgeball and volleyball tournaments, as well as decorating of golf carts. Wednesday will be "Beach" day, with beach attire for the students and staff.

A special event will be a program on the Hall of Pride for all students, to be held at Ruthven, along with movies.

The activities continue on Thursday with "Super Hero" Day. Students will be able to participate in "A Minute to Win" games. The annual VIP supper will run from 5-6:30 p.m. in the lunchroom and will be followed by the pep rally at 7 p.m. in the gym. The Coronation of the GT Homecoming King and Queen will follow at 7:30 p.m., along with a jersey "auction" as a fundraiser for the uniform fund.

Candidates nominated for the Homecoming royalty include Hannah Neilsen, Alyssa Hoffman, Amanda Aielts, Katie Noah and Cassy Hampson, along with Tanner Naig, Kyler Dose, Blaze Alesch, Logan Flaharty and Alex Chicoine. Crown Bearers will be Sacha Alesch and Kasey Hough

Attendants to the Homecoming court will be Juniors Grace Skattebo and Kyle Dalen, along with Sophomores Lauren Flaharty and Cody Thompson and Freshmen Emily Park and Alex Hoffman.

Homecoming activities come to their peak on Friday, which is School Spirit Day. Fans of the Titans are urged to wear their purple and silver attire. At noon, the school and community-wide 1K event will take place, with the entire community being invited to join in and participate. The Homecoming Parade starts at 2 p.m. at the High School and proceeds downtown, where a community pep rally will take place in the business district from 2:45 to 3 p.m.

The Homecoming Game will kickoff at 7 p.m. on Friday evening at Evergreen Park, and at 6:30 p.m. all preschool through sixth graders are invited to a balloon Victory Launch by the concession stand to precede the game with the Cadets of CAL-Latimer. The royal court will be introduced at halftime of the game to bring a close the 2012 Homcoming activites at GT/RA.
