SIOUX?RAPIDS - Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawk cross country squad earned a second place finish at Thursday's Sioux Central Invitational. The Lady E-Hawks finished behind Class 2A competitor Sheldon and claimed two medal finishes in the process.
Sophomore runner Mikki Mundus would pace the Lady E-Hawks on Thursday with a time of 18:00 flat, a new personal record and sixth place finish, to earn a medal.
Caroline Fantz would finish 13th with a time of 18:26 to also medal for the Lady E-Hawks. Tara Harris finished 17th with a time of 18:41 and Taylor Reimer was 19th with a time of 18:44.
Emily Bonnstetter would turn in a time of 18:49 for a 21st place finish, while Maura Soukup finished with a 19:30 for 26th place and Rachel Ruddy finished 30th with a time of 20:16 to round out the varsity girls' efforts.
The Junior Varsity girls were led by Madison Reimer's time of 22:36, which earned her tenth place and a medal.
Alison Gould would turn in a time of 23:20 to place 11th overall and Ema Enriquez placed 17th with a time of 29:39
In the Middle School division, Emmetsburg's Courtney Wurzer blistered the course to win the event with a time of 15:40.
The Emmetsburg boys were paced by Nick Grandstaff, who turned in a time of 20:32, good for the 36th finishing spot. Michael Pugh finished 42nd with a time of 21:48 and Austin Cole added a time of 21:50 to place 43rd overall in the varsity division.
For the Middle School boys, Zach Mason finished third with a 14:08 and Jordan Cole was fourth with a time of 14:13.
