GRAETTINGER -- Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth A. (Carpentier) Davis is at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 18, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger. Monsignor Michael Sernett will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Jacob's Catholic Cemetery, Graettinger. The Henry-Olson Funeral Home in Estherville is in charge of arrangements.
Ruth A. (Johnson) (Carpentier) Davis, the daughter of Alfred and Alice (Tindall) Johnson, was born March 6, 1951, in Estherville. She died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at her home in Welcome, MN, at the age of 61.
She graduated from Terril High School. Later she attended Iowa Lakes Community College, graduating with a nursing degree.
Ruth was employed at Emmetsburg Care Center, Lakeside Lutheran Home, Palo Alto County Hospital and Trimont Health Care Center. She retired in March 2011 due to ill health. She enjoyed cats, gardening, motorcycling, embroidery and traveling.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger.
Ruth is survived by her significant other, Steve Odegaard; children, Brett Carpentier of Graettinger; and Duane (Michele) Carpentier of Fort Dodge; six grandchildren, Ashley Haynes, Mitchell Carpentier, Taylor Carpentier, Christopher Haynes, Andrew Carpentier, Isaac Carpentier; sisters, Marilyn Ostheimer of Estherville; Alice Johnson of Graettinger; brothers, Robert (Kathleen) Johnson of Estherville; George (Barb) Johnson of Estherville; Ronald Johnson of Eagle Lake, MN.
She has been preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, Joshua Carpentier; sister, Frances Mason and brother, Paul Johnson.
