A Mass of Christian Burial for 84 year-old Martha E. Studer of Emmetsburg, and formerly of Mallard, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mallard.
Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mallard.
Casket bearers will be Martha's grandsons: Scott Studer, Jeff Studer, Kerry Studer, Dr. Jason Hough, Mike Hough, Richard Edwards and Jacob Edwards.
Honorary Bearers will be Martha's granddaughters: Lisa Hubbard, Kelly Swanson, Allysen Lovstuen, Sarah Edwards and Erin Edwards.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg where there will be a parish vigil service at 6 p.m.
Martha Elizabeth (Krug)?Studer, the daughter of Louis and Violet (Salisbury) Krug, was born on Aug. 17, 1928 at West Bend.
On May 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Alphonsus Studer in Mallard. The couple farmed southeast of Mallard. Martha worked for several years in the medical field at the West Bend Care Center and the Palo Alto County Hospital.
Martha passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at the Palo Alto County Hospital at the age of 84.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jim Studer of Mallard, Dale Studer (Ingrid) of West Bend, Deb Edwards (Rick) of Decorah and Ellie Studer of Dickens; son-in-law, Randy Hough (Dianne) of Emmetsburg; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Pete Krug of West Bend, Earl Krug of Colorado Springs, CO and Frank Krug (Christel) of Bella Vista, AR; sister, Eleanor Cooper (Gary) of Fort Dodge; sister-in-law, Gloria Frideres of West Bend; also survived by brother and sister-in-laws: Maria Studer of Ojai, CA, Lois Studer of Graettinger, John Shirk of Emmetsburg and Bob Studer (Peggy) of Plover; and many other relatives and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Violet; step-mother, Margaret; husband, Alphonsus; daughter, Cathy Hough; daughter-in-law, Jinner Studer; and two brothers: Louis and Richard Krug.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Martha's name.
