LAKE?PARK - Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawks played one of their best games of the year Monday night against Harris-Lake Park but came up a bucket shy in a 42-40 loss.
Emmetsburg trailed the Wolves 11-17 after the first quarter, but rallied to outscore HLP 11-8 in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 22-25 at the half-time break.
Both squads would struggled somewhat in the third quarter as Harris-Lake Park scored just seven points, while Emmetsburg could only add dive points to their total to trail 32-27 as the final quarter started.
The two clubs continued to battle back and forth, with Harris-Lake Park managing to hang on to the 42-40 margin of victory.
For Emmetsburg, Ashton Connelly popped in 13 points, while Alexa Naig added in nine points. Whitney Kibbie scored eight points, with Hadley Egland knocking down six points and Michaela Rehm rounded out the scoring for Emmetsburg with four points.
