TERRIL - A solid start to their season fell off for the Titan girls of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire as they lost five straight games up to the holiday break, closing out with a 56-43 loss to Harris-Lake Park on Dec. 21.
GT/RA would trail 20-12 after the first quarter of play on Friday at Terril, but were outscored 19-8 in the second frame to trail 39-22 at the intermission.
In the third quarter, the Lady Wolves took a 45-27 lead and went on to claim the 56-43 final margin of victory.
Brooke Hoffman led the Titans with 16 points and four assists. Cassy Hampson added nine points with four assists and three steals. Marly Bakken finished with six points as Morgan McGrauth and Lauren Flaharty both added four points, with Flaharty making five steals.
Rounding out the scoring for GT/RA were Grace Skattebo and Alex Olesen as they both added two points each and Skattebo collected five rebounds in the effort.
"We got beat by a good Lake Park team," admitted GT/RA Head Coach Todd Hough. "We did some good things both offensively and defensively though. I was proud of how hard the girls kept playing all the way to the end and of the improvement they showed in the game."
GT/RA (3-6 overall, 2-2 in the Cornbelt) travels to Everly on Jan. 4, 2013 to take on Clay Central-Everly.
