The 2013 St. Patrick's Junior Miss Pageant will be held Sunday, March 10, at the Emmetsburg High School Auditorium.
Again this year, the pageant will be divided into three categories: Little Miss Shamrock (ages 5-8), Little Lassie (ages 9-12), and Irish Miss (13 16). The contest is limited to eight entries in each age group.
Contestants entering the Little Miss Shamrock must be age 5 by March 10, 2013, no exceptions. One winner will be crowned in each age group.
Entry forms are available at St. Patrick's Headquarters, downtown Emmetsburg, or download the entry form at www.emmetsburgirishgifts.com.
Entries will only be accepted the week of Jan. 21 through 12 noon Jan. 26. Any early or late entries will be rejected. Phone call entries will not be accepted and St. will not be responsible for entries that are lost in the mail.
Eight contestants will be drawn from all entries submitted in each category. Should a drawing be needed, it will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at St. Pat's Headquarters. Entrants whose names are drawn will be notified on Jan. 29.
Contestants will be judged in the following areas: pre-pageant interview, talent, overall presentation, and appearance.
Contestants that are chosen as queen will also be able to participate in all activities during the St. Patrick's Celebration and of course be a part of Emmetsburg's famous St. Patrick's Day parade. Those chosen as queen will also participate in parades during the summer and that are prearranged by the St. Pat's Association.
Previous year's Junior Pageant winners are not eligible to take part in the competition.
Stop at St. Pat's and pick up an entry form. St. Pat's hours are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. They are closed Sunday and Monday.
