FISH FRY HOSTS -- Lenten Fish Fries will begin Friday, Feb. 8, at the VFW Post Home in Emmetsburg. Each week a different organization will host the event. Pictured (from the left) are representatives from host organizations: Brant Stapleton and Nate Samp, Iowa Lakes Community College Student Senate; Jerry Murphy, Knights of Columbus; Fred Bock, Kiwanis Club; Lois Jurries, Senior Center; Jane Bruch, Catholic Daughters of the Americas; Larry Huberty and Ned Munn, VFW; and LouAnn Huberty, VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Lions Club members will also serve as hosts.
The menu is the same as past years:?fish, baked potato, cole slaw, vegetable, dinner roll and drink for a cost of $8; children age five and under are free. Serving is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the VFW, Highway 4/18 West. Take-out meals are available by calling 712-363-3170. --Jane Whitmore photo
