The Emmetsburg Knights of Columbus hosted its annual Free Throw Championships on Jan. 13, with a total of 29 competitors between the ages of 10 and 14 participating in the event, held at Corrigan Hall.
Competition was held for both boys and girls, with each contestant shooting 15 free throws, with the best score winning the competition.
In the 10-year old division, Samantha Wolff won the girls' title, while John Joynt won the boys' title.
Jace Carlson was the winner of the 11-year old boys competition, while Rachel Geelan and Owen Sidles were the winners of the 12-year old age group.
Kristen Kassel and Zach Mason were the winners in the 13-year old division and Gillian Nolan was the winner in the 14-year old girls competition.
Youth competing in the event included: Ben Dunlap, Heidi Malm, Lex Kassel, Mikayla Frerichs, Samantha Wolff, John Joynt, Emma Sidles, Caleb Truog, Adam Deitering and Audrey Westfall.
Also participating in th event were Jace Carlson, Rachel Geelan, Tim Geelan, Hannah Malm, Ethan Schmidt, Kristen Kassel, Connor Joyce, Ashley Overberg and Andrew Walker.
Other participants included Brady Rosacker, Kayla Joyce, Tommy Geelan, Gillian Nolan, Owen Sidles, Jacob Conlon, Zach Mason, Joe Trevin and Trey Truog.
