Betty Jane Feaster Cooper was born Jan. 8, 1927, in Rolfe, the daughter of Albert and May Feaster. She married Leo Cooper on April 27, 1945, and the couple had three children.
Betty died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Glendale Heights, IL, at age 85.
Betty was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and they loved her.
Twenty-five years ago, Betty had a massive stroke and was dependent on her children and eventually care in a nursing home. She was strong, she was content, and she fought to live.
Betty Jane is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Bob)?Seeds and Shelly (Jim) Walenga; and her son, Russell (Rose)?Cooper; grandchildren, Jason (Sharon)?Walenga, Dale (Kelly)?Walenga, Kristin (Nathan)?Cooper/Harte and Karla Cooper; and great grandchildren, Zachary Walenga, Tyler Walenga and Bradley Walenga.
Also surviving is her sister, Barbara McCain of Emmetsburg; and sisters-in- law, Shirley Lauck, Wini-fred Schoenewe, Cynthia Baxter and Clara Feaster.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; a grandson, Nicholas; her parents, Albert and May Feaster; sisters, Violet "Brownie" Brown and Alberta Loveland and brothers, Harold and Daryl Feaster; and her in-laws, Lynn and Loretta Cooper.
Grave site service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly with Pastor Dan Mayes officiating. A reception will follow at First Christian Church, 701 East 18th Street, Spencer.
