Ag Education Day March 12

Economic Development Corporation Hosts Event

Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation, along with the Ag Committee and area ag-related businesses, are hosting an Ag Education Day on Tuesday, March 12, from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg and will include lunch. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

The theme for this year's event is "Ag Education Day". The event will feature topics on world trends and implications for the Midwest, the Rock Island Clean Line project, crop nutrients, agricultural outlook, bioenergy and integrating food and fuel production, POET's Project Liberty, and a legislative update on agriculture and biofuels in today's economy.

Bruce Trautman, Deputy Director, Iowa Department of Natural Resources

Brochures featuring highlights of the event are available at area cooperatives, banks, libraries, implement dealerships, city halls, and ISU Extension Offices in Algona and Emmetsburg. A registration form will be included in the brochure which can be filled out and mailed along with a check made payable to Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation, 106 S. Dodge Street, Suite 210, Algona, IA 50511.

Area residents can also register by calling Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Cor- poration at (515) 295-7979. Individuals may also register at the door the day of the event. Cost for the event is $20 per person through Feb. 28. After March 1, the registration fee will be $25 per person. Cost for students is $10.
