Wolverine Thinclads Improving Times During Outings

WBM/GCB Boys Run Well At Clay Central-Everly

SPENCER The Wolverine thinclads of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate brought home four championships from the Clay Central-Everly Relays on Friday, April 5. Additionally, WBM/GCB runners earned six runner-up finishes and four third place finishes.

Once again, relays paced the way for the Wolverines on Friday, starting with the 4x800 relay, with the foursome of Jesse Zinnel, Jason Zinnel, Nathan Grimm and Aaron Montag turning in a 9:05 to win the event.

The Medley Replay, comprised of Jordan Buhs, Davey Jergens, Dustin Johnson and Aaron Montag took first with their time of 4:06. The 4x100 relay, with Davey Jergens, Travis Fehr, Dustin Johnson and Jordan Buhs, also claimed first with a time of :48.2.

Also earning a first place finish was Davey Jergens in the 100 meter dash with his :12.0 clocking.

The Wolverines' shuttle hurdle relay, made up of Davey Jergens, Tyler McKimmey, Jack Banwart and Dustin Johnson, finished in 1:10 for second place, while the 4x400 relay, with Nathan Grimm, Nolan Dahlhauser, Nolan Grimm and Aaron Montag taking second with a time of 3:58. The 4x200 relay, with Jordan Buhs, Travis Fehr, Dustin Johnson and Nathan Grimm, also placed second with a time of 1:43.

Also earning second place finishes were Nolan Grimm in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:56, while Jesse Zinnel turned in a 5:17 in the 1600 meter run and Jason Zinnel finished the 800 meter run in 2:17.

Jack Fehr earned a third place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:45, while Jason Zinnel ran a 5:32 to take third in the 1600 meter run. Jesse Zinnel finished the 800 with a 2:17.1 for third place and Jordan Buhs earned third in the 200 meter dash with a :24.9 effort.

Tyler McKimmey would place fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of :12.8, while Nolan Dahlhauser finished the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:01 and Travis Fehr finished the 200 meter dash with a time of :25.4.

"I was very pleased with our performance on Friday night," noted Wolverine Head Coach Jerry Vanderhorst. "We were in the point race up to the last event, but came up a little short. The guys have a great effort on a windy, cool night. "Davey Jergens ran well in all his races as did Jason Zinnel."
