Jackson Honored At Dordt Defender Gold Classic

SIOUX?CENTER - An Emmetsburg prep standout was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2013 American State Bank/Defender Gold High School All Star Games at Dordt College recently.

Jake Jackson, the son of Brian and Mary Ellen Jackson of Emmetsburg, played for the Gold Squad in the annual contest, which matches up senior players from the Lakes, Siouxland and War Eagle athletic conferences. The contests for both girls and boys were played on March 16 at Dordt College in Sioux Center.

Jackson would lead the Gold squad in the boys contest, as he scored 17 points with four steals and an assist, but the Gold Squad would come up a bucket shy in a 70-72 loss to the Black Squad.

Joining Jackson on the Gold Squad were Erik Wilkie, Kyle dolph, Matt Burrell, Cam Kuchel, Brad Gritters, Michale Den Herder, Michale Grady, Jay Grant and Matt Klemme.

Playing on the Black Squad were Michael Whitehead, Collin Bolkema, Sam Weber, Trey Actherhoff, Cade Harvey, Jason Vander Kooi, JC Koerselman, Trevor Kauk, James Grader and Justin Van Kalsbeek.
