A new recognition program has been implemented at Emmetsburg High School. April kicks off the beginning of the "Student of the Month" awards, which allows a teacher in each discipline area to choose a student who has gone above and beyond what it means to be an EHS student.
Students may receive the honor by showing significant improvement, showing character, going above and beyond on an assignment or project, showing leadership, showing E-Hawk pride and school spirit, or by representing EHS and/or the community of Emmetsburg in a positive way.
Teachers, Deena Fries, April Moffitt and Amanda Von Ehwegen, worked together to develop the award program. "We wanted to implement something that would honor students for accomplishments they may not traditionally be recognized for," said Fries.
