Motivational Speaker To Highlight Annual Fun & Wellness Day

Making the most of "life's little lessons" will be the key message shared with those attending the 26th Annual Fun and Wellness Day in Emmetsburg this month.

Those lessons come from professional speaker Stacy (Besch) Williams, who is known throughout the Midwest. She also has local connections.

Williams has been an instructor at community colleges across the state of Iowa and has been the owner of a salon and day spa in Algona for more than 17 years.

Her keynote message is entitled "Control, Alt, Delete."

"Her speech ranges from humorous to serious and everything in between," said Kathy Merrill, one of the organizers of the event. "Her stories will entertain you. Life is full of lessons and we expect our audience will relate to that message."

Fun and Wellness Day is held annually and features a day of activities, health screenings, workshops and entertainment for anyone age 50 and better.

This is the 26th year of the event which is held at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg.

Join the fun on Wednesday, May 15. Doors open at Iowa Lakes at 7:45 a.m. for registration, continental breakfast and display booths. The day begins with a "welcome" begins at 8:45 a.m. The keynote message with Stacy (Besch)?Williams will follow.

As always, this event features a plethora of concurrent sessions.Sessions include: Cooking for Fun and Health; Wealth Transfer; Fundamentals of Black Jack; Travel; Strength Training; Spiritual Awakening; various sessions on Health; Hypnosis; Social Media; and many more.

Fun and Wellness Day will wrap-up with something new.

"This year we are offering additional classes and activities after lunch," Merrill said. "We expect this to be a fun day where participants can relax and be energized."

There is no advance registration. Cost is $10 at the door to cover all sessions as well as a continental breakfast and a roast beef dinner with all the 'fixings' for lunch.

All participants are encouraged to park in the main, northeast parking lot and enter the college through Entrance '3' and then follow the signs. Those desiring assistance from the parking lot may get a ride from golf cart escorts.

The Fun and Wellness Day is sponsored by Iowa Lakes Community College and the Palo Alto County Health System.
