WEST BEND -- Funeral service for Phyllis A. Miller of West Bend was held Tuesday, May 7, at the United Methodist Church in West Bend. The Rev. Evelyn Lewiston officiated.
Burial was in the West Bend Cemetery. The Harris Funeral Home in West Bend was in charge of arrangements.
Phyllis Miller passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Spirit Lake. She was 86.
Phyllis Ann Miller, the daughter of David and Myrtle (Fehr)?Zaugg, was born Sept. 15, 1926, in West Bend where she was raised. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1945.
On Oct. 8, 1945, Phyllis and Herbert Miller were married in Hattiesburg, MS. The couple raised their three children on a farm between Rolfe and West Bend. Phyllis helped with chores while her husband was away driving truck. They moved to West Bend in 2004.
Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and cooking.
Survivors include her children:?Steve (Carol) Miller of West Bend, Marcia (Jerome)?Bauer of Ottosen and Patty (Doug)?Shirk of Emmetsburg; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings:?Delores Besch of Algona, Laura Hagg of Council Bluffs, Dale Zaugg of Emmetsburg and Judy Schmidt of West Bend.
Phyllis Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 2006; and two sisters, Mae Schuller and Florence Mauck.
