Marcella “Marcie” Eaton 1938-2013

GRAETTINGER -- Funeral service for Marcella "Marcie" Eaton was held Saturday, June 29, at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger. Pastor Rick Johnson and Pastor Christine Lang officiated.

Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. The Henry-Olson Funeral Home in Graettinger was in charge of arrangements.

Marcella Bell (Jensen) Eaton, the daughter of James and Leota (Starkey) Jensen, was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Graettinger. She passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at North Iowa Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, at the age of 74.

She received her education in the Graettinger schools, graduating from Graettinger High School.

On June 1, 1957, Marcie was united in marriage to Darrel Eaton. The couple made their home in Graettinger where they raised their family and she was employed at Bank of America in Estherville for 24 years. Later she was employed at Bank Plus. In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and volunteering in the community.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Graettinger and the UMW. Marcie also belonged to the Graettinger Women's Club and the Graettinger American Legion Auxiliary.

Left to cherish Marcie's memory are her husband, Darrel of Graettinger; her children, Cynthia Anderson and her husband, Randy of Ankeny, and their children, Cole, Megan and Brett; Jane Jackson and her husband, Mark of Polk City, and their daughter, Katelyn; Dean Eaton and his wife, Michelle of Effingham, IL and their children, Clay and his wife, Megan Eaton and their son Charley; Amber Jaspering and her husband, Jordan; Gabe and Gracie Eaton and siblings, Thelma McCullough of Spencer; Roy Jensen and his wife, Berniece of Dunnell, MN and sisters-in-law, Sue Jensen of Graettinger; Lu Eaton of Ruthven, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Marcie in death were her parents and one brother, Merle Jensen.

In Lieu of Flowers the family prefers memorials.
