Even though the baseball season has concluded for 2013, a member of the Emmetsburg E-Hawks has received additional post- season honors for his play during his senior season.
Jake Jackson, the son of Brian and Mary Ellen Jackson of Emmetsburg was named to the Class 2A First Team All District for the Northwest Iowa District as a Utility player.
In his senior season for Coach Mike Brennan and the E-Hawks, Jackson was selected as a Lakes Conference First Team Outfielder. Jackson batted .312, with 24 singles, nine doubles, a triple and three home runs, with 24 RBI's with three sacrifices. During his season, Jackson also earned a record of 8-2 on the mound for the E-Hawks, pitching 56 1/3 innings with an ERA of 2.49. He tallied 67 strikeouts with 25 walks while facing 205 opponents.

In Jackson's tenure in the field on defense, Jake completed 68 put outs and amassed a fielding percentage of .933 during the recently completed season.
