Management of the Critically Ill Series

Iowa Lakes Community College will offer numerous courses regarding Management of the Critically Ill. Courses cover a variety of specific situations healthcare providers face when caring for critically ill patients. Courses include:

Cardiac Dysrhythmias (Mtown) - Sept. 10, 17, 24, and Oct 1, 8, from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Spencer Library. Cost is $198. Course # 51817

Cardiac Physiology & Angina - Sept. 10, from 12:30 - 4 p.m. at the Spencer Library. Cost is $40. Course # 51818

Myocardial Infarction - Sept. 17, from 12:30 - 4 p.m. at the Spencer Library. Cost is $40. Course # 51819

Congestive Heart Failure - Sept. 24, from 12:30 - 4 p.m. at the Spencer Library. Cost is $40. Course # 51820

Valve Disease & Pericarditis - Oct. 1, from 12:30 - 4 p.m. at the Spencer High School. Cost is $40. Course # 51821

Pacemakers - Oct. 8, from 12:30 - 4 p.m. at the Spencer Library. Cost is $40. Course # 51822

Pulmonary Physiology - Oct. 15, from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Spencer Library. Cost is $40. Course # 51823

Acid/Base Balance - Oct. 15, from 12:30 4 p.m. at the Spencer Library. Cost is $40. Course # 51824.

Affordable Care Act Explained

Iowa Lakes Community College will offer sessions on the Affordable Care Act to explain how it will impact the public and private sectors.

Lynn Schreder will present how the Affordable Care act impacts healthcare, individuals, and employers.

This session is free to the public. Nursing CEU's are available for nurses attending the training, for a fee of $8. Two sessions will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Emmetsburg campus:

10-11:30 a.m. - free session course # 51859; nurses session course # 51860

1-2:30 p.m. - free session course # 51861; nurses session course # 51862
