A Memorial Service for Leon "Lee" Cooper, 86, of Emmetsburg was held Saturday, Aug. 31, at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. The Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge or arrangements.

Leon Daniel Cooper was born April 4, 1927, in Primghar, the son of Daniel and Matilda (Kreymburg) Cooper. Lee grew up in Primghar where he attended Primghar schools.

On June 5, 1949, Lee was united in marriage to Dorothy Manley. To this union, four children were born. Dorothy preceded Lee in death in 2007.

Lee and Dorothy spent their retirement years in Primghar and Emmetsburg and several winters in Texas.

On Aug. 7, 2009, Lee married Geraldine Strzy-zewski, and the couple enjoyed nearly four years together living in Emmetsburg and Texas.

Lee enjoyed working, as an electrician and a farmer. He was an avid E-Hawk supporter and fan. Most of all, Lee loved to spend time with his children grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
