Funeral service for James E. Hnath of Ayrshire was held Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Clem Currans officiated.
Interment was in Silver Lake Cemetery, Ayrshire
James Ernest Hnath, son of Michael and Agnes (Hanczyk) Hnath, was born March 24, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA. He received his education in Pittsburgh. James served in the United States Army from May 28, 1956 until being honorably discharged on March 24, 1959.
On Sept. 17, 1960 James was united in marriage to Margaret F. (Pitteroff) in Pittsburgh. To this union three children were born. James was employed for Lux Ornamental Iron for many years and later for Armin Iron before his retirement. James was a very talented welder, putting up fire escapes and railings during his employment. After retiring, James and Margaret moved to Ayrshire to be closer to their family.
James passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Agnes Harms, Margaret Stein and Vera Coniglio; and brothers, Paul Hnath in infancy, Elmer Hnath and Michael Hnath.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hnath of Ayrshire; his children, Marge Hnath (Dale Miller) of Emmetsburg, James M. Hnath of Laurens, and Cindy Hnath of Ayrshire; grandchildren, Kristen Fedele and her fianc Cody McDaniel, David (Julia) Barsotti, Paul (Rachael) Barsotti, Michael Fedele, Melvin J. Dusch, III, and Daymian Buhsmann; great grandchildren, Anthony Barsotti, Lakota Wilson, Mackaiah Barsotti and Kailyx Barsotti; a brother, Ed (Diane) Hnath of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Teresa Jackson of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Busko and Ann Lehrman; brother-in-law, Ron Lehr-man; several nieces and nephews.
