Funeral service for Carol Glennon of Emmetsburg will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Martin-Mattie Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmets- burg.

Visitation for Carol will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home.

Carol M. Glennon, daughter of Daniel C. and Jennie S. (Nelson) Glennon, was born March 31, 1922 in Emmetsburg. She attended Emmetsburg Community School, graduating Valedictorian of her high school class. Following graduation, Carol continued her education in Minneapolis for three years.

After completing her college education, Carol was employed as a secretary. She lived and worked in Washington, D.C. for the British Purchasing Commission before returning to Iowa.

Carol was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church in Emmetsburg. After its closing she joined the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. When church services were held at Kathleen's Residential Care Facility, Carol played the piano for the service. She also enjoyed attending Bible studies.

Carol passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Kathleen's Residential Care Facility, at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Jennie Glennon; and two special cousins, Homer McIntire and Phillip Frietag.

Carol is survived by two first cousins, Betty McIntire of Waseca, MN and Rosemary Frietag of Madison, SD and their families, as well as many relatives and friends throughout Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Attending her service are cousins Nancy McIntire (David LaMotte), James and Joshua LaMotte of Eagan, MN; Rick (Jane) Hanson and Derrick Hanson of Alexandria, MN; Danny (Lynnette) Hanson of Fergus Falls, MN; and Boyd (Elaine) VanWinkle of Huron, SD.
