David C. Macomber 1934-2014

Funeral service for David C. Macomber of Emmetsburg was held Saturday, March 29, at Grace Baptist Church in Emmetsburg. Pastor Curtis DeFord, Pastor John Runyan and John Macomber officiated.

Interment was in Valley View Cemetery, Graettinger. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.

David C. Macomber, son of Theodore and Gertrude (Clark) Macomber, was born Nov. 20, 1934 in Grand Rapids, MI. He graduated from Creston High School in Grand Rapids, in 1952.

David served in the United States Navy from November 1955 until Oct. 27, 1957. He then attended Bethel Bible College, graduating in 1960.

David moved to St. Paul, MN, where he worked until his marriage to Marlys Bratrud on June 3, 1962. To this union four children were born.

David did farm work and served as a minister. He and Marlys lived in Arkansas where they worked at a Bible Camp until Marlys's father needed care. They then moved to Emmetsburg. While living in Emmetsburg, David was em- ployed as a machinist for several years. David was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church in Emmetsburg.

David had recently moved to Arkansas to live near his children. He passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at his son's home in Vilonia, AR, at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and a sister.

He is survived by his children, Nathan Macomber of Greenbrier, AR, Stephen Macomber of Jasper, GA, Timothy Macomber of Vilonia, AR, and Andrew Macomber of Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers; nieces and nephews.
