SPENCER - Emmetsburg's girls track team finally got on the track after a week of rainy weather cancelled their schedule. A sunny Friday afternoon allowed the Lady E-Hawks to earn third place at the Girls' Special meet at Spencer. Emmetsburg finished with 79 points behind Spencer with 212 points and Algona with 96.
The Lady E-Hawks earned several second place finishes on the evening, starting with Mikki Mundus in the 200 meter dash, as the junior finished with a :27.58 clocking for her second place finish.
Tara Harris would earn second place honors in the 1500 meter run with her time of 5:52.11, and then finished third in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:35.81.
Emmetsburg's 4x100 relay team, comprised of Hadley Egland, Helena Fantz, Alexa Naig and Mikki Mundus, earned second place honors with its time of :55.87, and the 4x200 relay, made up of Mikki Mundus, Hadley Egland, Emily Bonnstetter and Alexa Naig, also earned a second place finish with their 1:56.85 clocking.
The 4x800 relay group of Jordan Hoyman, Cierra McAllister, Kate Jackson and Taylor Reimer, turned in an 11:34.10 time to earn second place honors.
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Helena Fantz, Bailey Naig, Alexa Naig and Hadley Egland would finish third with their time of 1:14.76.
Also earning a third place finish was Helena Fantz in the 100 meter hurdles, as the freshman turned in a :17.55 clocking for her placing.
Other finishes on the track included a sixth place in the 100 meter dash for senior Rachel Ruddy with her time of :14.17, while Jenna Chapman finished 12th overall in the 100 meter dash with a :15.01 clocking.
Emily Bonnstetter would finish the 200 meter dash in a time of :32.15, good for 12th place overall, Jordan Lange would place eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:17.15, and in the 800 meter run, Taylor Reimer finished fifth with a 2:44.88 effort, while Madeleine Mueller was 13th with her time of 3:11.56.
Hadley Egland would finish 11th in the 100 hurdles with a :19.45 clocking. IN the 400 meter hurdle event, Cierra McAllister placed seventh with a 1:23.28 effort and Jordan Hoyman was eighth with a 1:25.29 clocking.
Emmetsburg's 4x400 meter relay, comprised of Allison Gould, Madeleine Mueller, Maura Soukup and Caroline Fantz earned a sixth place finish with their time of 5:12.32 t o round out the running events.
The field events would see Rachel Ruddy earn a fifth place finish in the long jump, as she came away with a leap of 14'7", while teammate Shelby Loomis jumped 13'10.25" to place ninth in the event.
Tegan Olson would earn third place honors in the discus with her throw of 104'11", while Kayla Joyce earned fifth place, throwing the platter 96'10.5".
In the shot put, Tegan?Olson would finish seventh with a throw of 31;9.5: and Natalie Ruiz was eighth, throwing the orb 31'4.5".
Rounding out the efforts was Erin Poeppe in the high jump, as she cleared 4'2" to finish in sixth place for Emmetsburg.
The Lady E-Hawks were slated to compete Monday at the Sheryl Maahs Relays in Spirit Lake, and then return to Spirit Lake on Thursday for the girls and boys Lakes Conference Meet.
