Private family graveside services for Myrtle I. Fogle, 86, of Emmetsburg, will be held at the Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson at a later date. Myrtle passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at PARC Hall in Emmetsburg.
Myrtle I. (Tuhn) Fogle was born on Nov. 26, 1927, in Jefferson, the daughter of Charlie and Nellie (Bess) Tuhn. She grew up in the Jefferson area and attended Panora-Linden School where she graduated. Myrtle then lived in Salem, OR, for 15 years before returning to Des Moines where she worked for Principal Financial Group until her retirement in 1986.
Following her retirement, Myrtle moved to Emmetsburg to be closer to her daughter. She was united in marriage on Oct. 31, 1970, to Ernie Fogle.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Linda (Bob) Halverson of Emmetsburg; grandson, David (Kate) Halverson of Ankeny; granddaughter, Jenn (Chris) Toomer of Fairmont, MN; great-grandchildren, Carson and Hadan Toomer and Jack, Leah, Ryan and Max Halverson; and one sister, Esther (David) Bradley of Tucson, AZ.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nell Tuhn; husband, Ernie Fogle; sisters, Bessie Fetters, Clara Smith and Carole Devilbiss; brothers, Gene Tuhn, Dick Tuhn and Don Tuhn and brother-in-law, John Devilbiss.
