Hot Shots Shoot At State

CEDAR?FALLS - Members of the Emmetsburg Hot Shots Trapshooting squads participated in last weekend's Iowa State Scholastic Trap Shooting Meet in Cedar Falls.

The local shooters participated in all three divisions of action over the three-day event.

For the High School squad, Allen Jensen shot an 89 in four rounds of trap, while Connor Crosgrove shot 70. Doug Vesey would shoot 68, with Eli Reichert shooting 65 and Avery Ringlaben shooting 56. The high school shooters competed on Friday, May 30.

In the Rookie Class, Donald Strohman and Matthew Berkland would both shoot 66's out of 100 targets, and Lex Kassel shot 52.

Emmetsburg's Intermediate shooters were paced by Hunter McAllister's score of 83, while Jackson Knight added a score of 81. Zane Wickman recorded a score of 77 and Thomas Crocoll added a round of 71. Blake VerMulm would shoot a 69 and Dalton Bunda shot a 59.

Rounding out the Emmetsburg entries were the Entry Level Intermediates. Brennan Duhn would lead this group by shooting a 79, while Gavin Jorgenson shot a 77 total. Matthew Hill would come away with a 60 and Jon Patrick Lace II would shoot a 53. The Intermediate and Rookie shooters competed Sunday, June 1.
