Margaret Reiman 1921-2014

A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Reiman of Ayrshire will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ayrshire. Burial is in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. The Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Mary Reiman was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Willey, IA, the daughter of Victor and Elisabeth (Goecke) Wernimont. She was a graduate of St. Angela Academy in Carroll.

Margaret was united in marriage to Al Reiman on May 23, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburn. Four years later, the couple moved to Ayrshire where they began farming.

Margaret was a homemaker, and she helped out with the farm bookkeeping. Later in life, she worked as a home health aide. Margaret's catholic faith was very important to her. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active in the altar and rosary society, and she volunteered many hours helping with church events. Margaret served on the Northwest Aging Council, and she also delivered dinner date.

Margaret enjoyed her flower gardens, playing cards, sewing, reading and visiting with people. She also enjoyed the many trips that she and Al took with Vigortone Feeds.

On Thursday, June 26, 2014, Margaret passed away at the Emmetsburg Care Center at age 92.

She is survived by her children: Robert of Ruthven, Lois Stafford (Dan) of Pawnee Rock, KS and Gary (Lisa) of Ayrshire; sister, Eileen Herbers of Emmetsburg; brother, Leo Wernimont and his wife, Tootsie of Fonda; sister-in-law, Marie Wernimont of Carroll; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al; four infant children: Joseph, Jane, Karen and Kenneth; two grandsons: Joseph Stafford and Ryan Reiman; brother, Walt Wernimont; and her sister, Ruth Bellinghausen.
