Travis E. Snavely 1977-2014

Funeral service for Travis E. Snavely was held Saturday, Aug. 16, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg The Rev. Peter Morlock officiated.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.

Travis Eugene Snavely was born Sept. 10, 1977 in Emmetsburg, to Carmen (Halstead) and Randy Snavely. He received his education in Emmetsburg. As a young boy, Travis loved to go to Soper Park where he would play basketball for hours. He was also a fan of wrestling and MMA Fighting.

Following completion of his education, Travis began working as a welder for Fisher Hydraulics in Laurens where he was employed for several years.

On March 25, 2006, Travis was united in marriage to Charity Fuoss at the Smith Wellness Center.

After leaving Fisher Hydraulics Travis began over-the-road trucking. He found a lot of joy as a "lifer", as he referred to himself, traveling the countryside. The only thing that brought Travis more enjoyment than trucking was being with his children.

Travis passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 in Emmetsburg at the age of 36. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Snavely and Archie and Edna Halstead; cousins, Ryan Sidles and Lucas Rike; uncle, Gaylen Halstead; and aunt, Sherri Opheim.

He is survived by his wife, Charity of Mallard, and their children, Dalton Snavely of Laurens, Austin Mamman, Tiffany Snavely, Colten Snavely, Jasmine Snavely, and Chance "Bubba" Snavely all of Mallard and Hunter Vega of Ceylon, MN; his parents, Randy Snavely (Crystal) of Emmetsburg, and Carmen Kaneer of Emmetsburg; brothers, Justin Snavely (Kayla) of Emmetsburg, Jason Snavely (Michaela) of Pocahontas, Dillon Kaneer of Emmetsburg, Dana Kaneer (Brenda) of Ankeny, and Christopher Keairnes of Emmetsburg; sisters, Amy Foster (Jimmy) of Marathon, and Patricia Burma (Nick) of Crystal Lake; grandmother, Jeannie Harris of Texas; aunts and uncles; cousins; as well as many other relatives and friends.
