To the Editor,
The Upper Des Moines Palo Alto Outreach Staff would like to thank all the churches, businesses, organizations, schools and individuals that supported us throughout 2016. There are so many of you and we want you to know how much we appreciate all you have done for the Outreach. Without your help and generosity many of our programs would not exist.
The donations to our Back-To-School Program helped many county parents get their children ready for school with new school supplies and fresh haircuts.
Thank you so much to all the businesses, organizations and individuals that purchased Holiday Food Baskets that were distributed to our families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also to Fareway for helping us by packing and passing out the boxes. It was greatly appreciated. This service ensures that our families have a special holiday meal.
The support of our Christmas Program was outstanding. All of our families were so thankful for the gifts they received. The toys, gift certificates, monetary donations, hats and mittens were used to help some very needy families in our county.
We also want to thank the Reporter/Democrat for publishing our Christmas projects. We appreciate the time and effort spent on this. We could not do this project without your help.
The shelves in the food pantry were getting extremely low. Hundreds of pounds of food and personal items were donated over the holidays and the shelves are now well stocked. We thank everyone who so generously donated to the Outreach Office!
We do indeed live in a very caring and giving county. Thank you again for your generous donations and support this past year. With your continued support we will give our at-risk families the encouragement that they need to empower them to self-sufficiency.
If you have any questions or concerns about Outreach, please feel free to give us a call or visit us at the Outreach office.
