MILFORD - A total of five area wrestlers earned trips to the State Wrestling Tournament this weekend in Des Moines following Class 1A District tournament matches Saturday in Okoboji.
The Emmetsburg E-Hawks send two wrestlers to state, as do the Titans of Graettinger-Terri/Ruthven-Ayrshire and the West Bend-Mallard/ Gilmore City-Bradgate Wolverines will send their first-ever state qualifier.

Emmetsburg's two state qualifiers, Spencer and Mason Griffin, both had to earn their way to Des Moines through wrestleback matches on Saturday in their respective weight classes.
At 132 pounds, Spencer Griffin opened with a 16-0 Technical Fall in 5:06 of his match with Stefan VanBeek of West Lyon, setting up a finals re-match with GT/RA's Kolton Roth. Roth would gain revenge for his Sectional tourney loss to Griffin by earning a 15-9 decision over the E-Hawk wrestler. Moving into a wrestleback for true second place, Griffin would earn a :41 Win by fall over Skyler Brigg of Akron-Westfield to earn his trip to State.
At 145, Mason Griffin would be pinned in :39 by Dylan Schuck of Sibley-Ocheyedan, but came back to receive an injury default victory over Okoboji's Colbin LaRue in the third place match. Wrestling back for true second, Griffin earn a 9-7 Sudden Victory decision win over AJ?Nemesio of Akron-Westfield to earn his trip to State.
But there was heartbreak for several E-Hawks as well on Saturday. Levi Aldous would lose a 6-5 decision to Trey Schuck of Sibley-Ocheyedan in the semi-finals, and then took third place with a 5:16 Win by fall over Seth Salker of West Sioux in action at 120 pounds.
At 138 pounds, Tanner Lundgren would wrestle Kory VanOort of West Sioux to a scoreless 0-0 tie at the end of regulation, but in the Sudden Victory period, VanOort got a takedown for the 2-0 decision win over Lundgren. Lundgren would earn a 1:44 Win by fall over Payton Klarenbeek of West Lyon in the third place match, and wrestling back for true second, was pinned by Caleb Gunderson fo Sioux Central in :33 to dash his hopes of a state appearance.
Jon Lace, wrestling at 160, was pinned in :52 to open the tournament but came back to score a 4:29 Win by fall over Colton Schau of Sioux Central to place third.
At 195 pounds, Jimmie Steffens was pinned in :59 by Hunter DeJong of Sibley-Ocheyedan and then finished fourth hen he was pinned in 2:37 by Dylan Hoyser of West Lyon.
Graettinger-Terri/ Ruthven-Ayrshire earned two state qualifiers with Lucas Hoffman and Kolton Roth winning their respective weight classes on Saturday.
At 126 pounds, Lucas Hoffman earned a 17-1 Technical Fall in 5:36 over Justin Severson of West Lyon in the semifinals and then won the title with a 16-6 Major Decision win over Hunter Abrahamson of Okoboji.
In action at 132, Kolton Roth won a 13-7 decision over Skyler Briggs of Akron-Westfield and in the title match, earned revenge for a Sectional loss by defeating Spencer Griffin of Emmetsburg by a 15-9 decision.
Hunter Naig would be pinned in :15 by Adam Allard of West Sioux and lost a 9-0 Major Decision to Daltin Roest of Manson NWW to finish fourth at 106.
At 113, Keeven Long was pinned in 3:19 by William Kooi of West Lyon, and Long would be pinned in 1:36 by Carson Collins of Manson NWW to also finish fourth.
Beau Schany would be pinned in 1:10 by Trent Kruger in the opening round at 170 pounds, and then lost a 6-5 decision to Matthew Eckard of Okoboji to finish fourth.
At 182 pounds, Carter Murray lost an 11-5 decision to Neddy Montes of West Sioux but was forced to injury default to Christian Wolthuizen of Akron-Westfield to finish fourth.
In action at 285 pounds, Nate Harris lost a 3-0 decision to Montana Jackson of Akron-Westfield, and earned a 1:49 Win by fall over Jake Anderson of North Union to finish third.
West Bend-Mallard/Gil-more City-Bradgate earned its first-ever State Qualifier Saturday when Juan Falcon placed second at 182 pounds.
Falcon opened the tournament with a 16-6 Major Decision win over Christian Wolthuizen of Akron-Westfield, but in the championship match, Falcon would come up short in a 12-10 decision to finish as the runner-up and qualify for the State Tournament appearance.
Mason Studer lost a 7-2 decision to Sebastian Berg of Akron-Westfield at 152 and in the third place match, Studer was pinned in 1:30 by Trevor Schuller of West Sioux to finish fourth.
