Funeral service for Lester L. Lambertus of Emmetsburg was held Sunday, March 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. John Koopman officiated.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.
Lester LeRoy Lambertus, son of Otto Wilhelm and Theressa Matilda (Klinefelter) Lambertus, was born July 26, 1936 in Milford. He received his education in Fostoria, Harris and Emmetsburg.
On Jan. 19, 1958, Lester was united in marriage to Patricia Ellen Sparks at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. To this union seven children were born.
Lester worked for Andersen Construction in Emmetsburg where he did masonry work and construction. He later worked for Holtz Construction.
Lester was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg and was very active in the Fair Share Program.
Lester passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Lambertus; two sons, Richard and Robert Lambertus; two brothers, John and Virgil Lambertus; and a sister, Marian Waldstrom.
He is survived by his children, Martin (Anne) Lambertus, Sr. of Spencer, Elizabeth (Gus) Ollestad of Clearbrook, MN, Edward (LaFawn) Lambertus of Ramar, TN, Theressa (Chad) Kelley of Clearbrook, MN and Marjorie (Mike) Wagner of Storm Lake; 15 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Bodicker of Vinton, and Leanna Hass of Lake Park.
