ESTHERVILLE - Emmetsburg's E-Hawks earned a fifth place finish at Thursday's Estherville Lincoln Central Relays in the team standings, posting several solid efforts by the thinclads. The E-Hawk Junior Varsity competitors would also earn fifth place honors in their division during the meet, the second oldest continuously track meet west of the Mississippi River.
Pacing the events for Emmetsburg was a winning effort from the 4x200 relay, as the foursome of Aaron Hutchison, Brent Wesley, Blake VerMulm and Grant Deitering turned in a 1:34.33 clocking for the first place finish.
The 4x100 relay would finish second overall in :46.19 and E-Hawk AJ?Krieg earned the runner-up finish in the long jump with his effort of 19'3".

Cruz Bowman placed third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:56.61 and third in the 3200 meters with a 10:32.64 clocking, while Zach Foxhoven placed third in the high jump, clearing 5'8". Grant Deitering took third in the 200 meter dash with a time of :24.34 and teammate Blake VerMulm was a step behind with a :24.88 to finish fourth.
Grant Deitering took fourth in the 100 meter dash in :12.17, while the Distance Medley relay squad placed fourth in a time of 4:15.05. The 4x400 relay would finish fifth in 3:55.63 and the Sprint Medley relay took fifth place with a 1:42.69 effort.
The 4x800 relay finished sixth in a time of 10:38.27, while Dalton Connelly earned sixth in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:04.16. Nick Schany finished sixth in the shot put, throwing 40'10", while Zach Yates placed seventh in the high jump, clearing 5'5".
Jacob Myers earned eighth place in the discus, throwing 108'1", while Brent Wesley finished eighth in the 100 meter dash in :12.40. Zach Foxhoven earned ninth place in the 400 meter dash in :57.82, while Adam Deitering placed ninth in the 3200 meter run in 12:13.31.
Dawson Carlson would finish tenth in the 1600 meter run with a 5:26.94 clocking, while Kyle Licht rounded out the varsity finishes with an 11th place effort in the discus of 93'3".
For the E-Hawk Junior Varsity, Jimmie Steffens would win the shot put with a throw of 35'9". Kelly Griffin finished second in the 1600 meter run in 5:41.36, while Takoda Harris was third in 5:42.45.
The JV 4x400 relay placed third in 4:09.50, while the JV 4x100 relay took fourth place in :52.57. Alex Gramowski would finish eighth in the 100 meter dash in :14.42, while Evan Brenna was eighth in the 200 meter dash in :29.35. Jon Lance took eighth in the shot put, throwing 29'2", while Evan Brennan placed ninth in the 100 meter dash in :14.45 and Alex Gramowski finished 12th in the 200 meter dash in a time of :31.21.
