Titans, Wolverines Earn State Track Qualifications

MANSON - Athletes from Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire and West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate earned qualifications for the State Track and Field Championships this weekend following District/Regional qualifications Thursday at Manson.

GT/RA will send four boys entries and four girls entries to the State Track Meet while WBM/GCB?will send two girls entries to Des Moines.

WBM/GCB?Qualifiers

The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate qualified their Shuttle Hurdle Relay and Distance Medley Relays on Thursday, The Shuttle Hurdle relay, comprised of Ashlyn Banwart, April Schmidt, Callie Clark and Trissa Schmidt, qualified with their 1:12.40 clocking and are the 20th seed in Class 1A.

The Distance Medley, with Autumn Mogler, Trissa Schmidt, Isabell Gehrt and Emma Thatcher, qualified with a 4:32.12 and are seeded 15th.

Titans Qualifiers

For GT/RA's girls, two individuals and two relays earned trips to the State Track Meet.

Toni Alesch qualified in the 200 meter dash with a :27.21 clocking, the ninth seed at State in Class 1A. In the 800 meter run, Madison Norris earned qualification with a time of 2:30.30 and is seeded 20th overall.

The Titans' 4x800 relay squad, comprised of Taylor Park, Anna Sorenson, Emily Chicoine and Madison Norris, finished with a 10.26.22 clocking to be seeded 11th in the State meet.

GT/RA's Distance Medley quartet of Toni Alesch, Taylor Park, Emma Heinrichs and Madison Norris, qualified for State with a time of 4:29.50 and are seeded 11th ast well.

For the Titan boys, Jacob Conlon is the individual qualifier in the 800 meter run, winning the 800 meters with a 2:05.8 clocking, which gives him a number 22 seeding at State.

The Titans' 4x100 relay set a new GT/RA?School Record on Thursday night as the foursome of Nate Larson, Simon Cahill, Jake Conlon and Kolton Roth earned a trip to state with a :45.44 clocking, which gives them an 11th seed.

The 4x800 relay group of Kolton Roth, Chris Conlon, Eric Sundall and Jacob Conlon also set a new GT/RA?School Record on Thursday, as they won their race with at time of 8:33.14 and a 12 seed at the State Meet.

The Titans also qualified their Sprint Medley Relay after it finished third at Manson with a 1:39.54 clocking. Members of the relay are Nate Larson, Simon Cahill, Kolton Roth and Jake Conlon, and the foursome are seeded 24th for the State Meet, which gets underway this Thursday, May 18, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
