Titans, Wolverines To Send Individual Golfers To District

Both the Titans of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire and the Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate will send one individual on to this Thursday's Class 1A District Golf Tournaments, following their play in Class 1A Sectional tournament action on Friday.

The Titans of GT/RA?traveled to Newell for Sectional play on Friday, while the Wolverines of WBM/GCB played at Algona for their Sectional tournament.


At Newell, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire would finish fourth overall with a 350 team score behind St. Edmond of Fort Dodge with a 331, North Union with a 340 and Newell-Fonda with a 345.

For the Titans, Tyson Kruse would lead the way with rounds of 42 and 38 for a toto of 80. By rule, as Kruse was the lowest score from a non-qualifying team, he earned the right to advance to the 1A District Tournament that will be played at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge in the individual competition.

After Kruse's round of 80, the Titans got rounds of 40 and 47 for an 87 from Noah Flaherty, while Brady Olson shot a 46 and 46 for a 91. Josh Petrich carded a 48 and 44 for a 92, while Treyton Cacek shot a 50 and 42 for a 92 and Brady Rosacker carded a 52 and 47 for a 99 stroke total.

Wolverines' Results

At Algona, the Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gil-more City-Bradgate would finish fourth in the team standings with a 391 behind the 318 of Bishop Garrigan and the 348 of Mason City Newman. West Hancock was third with a 369. West Fork finished fifth with a 398, while North Iowa was sixth with a 494 and Northwood-Kensett was seventh with a 501.

Nick Ford led the Wolverines with rounds of 45 and 45 for a 90, and by rule, advances to the 1A District meet in Mason City on Friday.

Bryce Schany would card rounds of 43 and 50 for a 93, while Michael Auten shot a 49 and 49 for a 98. Noah Fehr shot a 56 and 54 for a 110, Cole Hoskins shot a 53 and 58 for a 111 and Mason Studer shot a 49 and 58 for a 117.
