Christian T.R. Strohman

Services for Christian Strohman will be held on Monday, July 31 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. The service will be officiated by Reverends Hojin Shin and Louie Q. Gallo. Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery of Emmetsburg.

Funeral arrangements were made by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home.

Christian Theodore Robert Strohman, son of John and Stacey (DePue) Strohman, was born July 25, 1997 in Emmetsburg. He attended Emmetsburg Community School. While in high school, Christian was active in basketball, cross country and concert choir. He graduated in 2016.

Following graduation, Christian attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, where he had just completed his first year of Criminal Justice studies.

Christian was currently employed at Pizza Hut in Fort Dodge. As a young boy and during high school, Christian would often be seen helping his dad do custodial work at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg where Christian was a member. Christian was proud of the fact that before he graduated from high school he had received his Gallon Donor Pin for blood donations.

He loved hunting, fishing, camping and playing basketball. Christian enjoyed his two dogs, Shadow and Tazz. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Golden State Warriors and the L.A. Lakers. He had plans to go to California to visit his brother, Zach and attend a Lakers game.

Christian passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at his home in Fort Dodge, at the age of 19. He was preceded in death by his great grandmothers, Lois DePue, Dorothy Kooker, Peggy Frink and Evelyn Strohman; and great grandfathers, Henry DePue, Lowell Frink and Elmer Strohman.

He is survived by his parents, John and Stacey of Emmetsburg; his brother, Zach Strohman and Arun Sethuraman of San Diego, California; grandparents, Ted and Linda Strohman of Emmetsburg, and Robert and Shirley DePue of Emmetsburg; great grandfather, Paul Kooker of Emmetsburg; aunts, uncles, and cousins, Jason and Kristie DePue and their children, Jacob and Nicholas, Bob Strohman and his son, Dayton, Mark and Angie Strohman and their children, Chelsea, Betty and Donald, Troy and Sara Strohman and their children, Tanya, Isaac, Hunter and Savanah, Heather Strohman; as well as many other relatives and friends.
