GT/RA Titan Netters Sweep Newell-Fonda

GRAETTINGER?- The Titan volleyball team of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire swept Newell-Fonda in Twin Lakes Conference volleyball action last Thursday, but would fall to Southeast Valley on Tuesday night. GT/RA would earn the victory Thursday by game scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 27-25. On Tuesday, the Titans fell by scores of 21-25, 17-25 and 21-25.

Leading the effort Tuesday was Kylea Fehr, with 20 attacks and five kills, six digs and one assist while completing 15 of 17 serves with one ace.

Teammate Toni Alesch added 16 attacks with seven kills and one dig, while assisting on three blocks and making four blocks on her own. Alesch also added 10 of 10 service completions with a pair of aces to the winning effort.

Anna Sorenson had six attacks and three kills, along with a pair of assists, while Emma Heinrichs added five attacks and dished out one assist while digging out six shots, and added eight of nine serves with an ace.

Madison Norris came away with four attacks and three kills, and dug out four shots on the night, as she assisted on four blocks and had one solo block. Norris also handed out 20 assists to her teammates, and connected on three of five serves with one ace to her credit.

Taylor Park would also have four attacks on the night and would dig out 20 shots, but was stellar at the serving line by connecting on 23 of her 25 service attempts with three ace serves.

Madison Hough added three attacks with one kill and dug out two shots, while assisting on a block and making one solo block and Chloe Bakken would come away with two attacks and one kill, while digging out seven shots and making seven of nine serving attempts with one ace.

Tuesday night Toni Alesch had 26 attacks with 14 kills and three digs, while assisting on two blocks and adding a solo block with nine of 11 serves and two aces. Kylea Fehr added 12 attacks and six kills with eight digs and 15 of 17 serves with four aces.

Anna Sorenson had 11 attacks with five kills, two digs and an assisted block, while Emma Heinrichs added 11 attacks with two kills, five digs and made six of six serves on the night.

Madison Hough had eight attacks with three kills, while Taylor Park would make four attacks and one kil, while digging out 25 shots on the night and connecting on 12 of 13 serves.

Madison Norris made one attack and had one kill, and dug out six shots and assisted on one block, while dishing out a total of 27 assists and completed 14 of 15 serving attempts.

Chloe Bakken had four digs and completed two of two attempts at the serving line to close out the effort.

The Titans will continue Twin Lakes Conference play Thursday night, Aug. 31, when they host South Central Calhoun and St. Mary's of Storm Lake in a triangular at Graettinger. Action will get underway at 5 p.m.
