Local Eye Doctors Challenge Palo Alto County Residents

September 7, 2017
Emmetsburg News

If you have ever had the desire to participate in a mission trip but could not due to time, money, family obligations, or a host of other reasons; Then Feed Just One is an opportunity to kind of go on a local mission. By donating $30 and an hour of your time you can help send nutritious meal packages to a group or family that would otherwise go hungry.

Doctors Ryan and Dan Reedy are challenging county residents to volunteer to help prevent third world starvation at the Just Feed One event. If you can't afford the $30 entry fee, they will pay for the first 100 volunteers that text their first and last names and best cell number to (712) 480-2020.

The event begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 9 at the Palo Alto County Fair Grounds located at 2101 Madison Street in Emmetsburg. Shifts are available from 8-9 a.m., 9-10 a.m., 10-11 a.m., and 11-12 p.m. A person is also able to work all four hours if they desire.

As a further challenge, any workers that stay all four hours Doctors Ryan and Dan Reedy will be giving a $90 credit toward a complete pair of prescription frames and lenses from the optical dispensary at the Emmetsburg Eye Clinic. You will need to text your name and number before registration at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday. This offer cannot be used with any other optical insurance or discounts.

To participate in this wonderful event, call or email Lois Stanley at 852-2692. Her email is stanprop@iowatelecom.net. You may also contact Bonnie Whitney at 852-9160 or email bonniew@iowatelecom.net.

Participants are also encouraged to check out the website at www.missionhonduraslemars.org and read Matthew 25:31-40.

We hope to see all persons in the county between the ages of 9 and 99 on Saturday. Chairs will be provided for those in need.

If I give you a new commandment: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. John 13:34

God Bless you all! And thank you for thinking of the less fortunate!
