First United Methodist Church Youth Group Seeks Goods for Hurricane Relief

The Youth Group at the First United Methodist Church of Emmetsburg will be collecting cleaning supplies from the citizens of Emmetsburg to help the United Methodist Committee on Relief. The supplies will be sent to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

The First United Methodist Church youth will be canvasing town for cleaning supplies which include 25 oz laundry detergent, 12-16 oz household cleaner, dish soap, clothespins, sponges, 33-35 gallon heavy-duty trash bags, cleaning wipes, air freshener, insect repellent, kitchen dish washing gloves, work gloves, scouring pads, and dust masks. They will also be collecting hygiene supplies such as: hand towels, washcloths, comb, fingernail clippers, 3 oz soap, adult toothbrushes, band aids, and gallon size Ziplock bags. The group will also take monetary donations to put towards the relief effort.

If you would like to donate any of these supplies, leave the items in a garbage bag at your front door on Wednesday, September 13. The group will be collecting the items at 6 p.m.

If you find that your house did not get stopped at, donations will be accepted at the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg. The items will be leaving for Texas on September 15.
