Lady E-Hawks Win Tim Thomas Meet

HOLSTEIN - Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawk varsity Cross Country team captured the top place in Class B of the Tim Thomas Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Holstein. Coach Katie Heddinger's harriers won with 56 points, besting St. Edmond of Fort Dodge and Alta-Aurelia in the team race.

The Lady E-Hawks would be paced by the third place finish of Raven Brown, who was clocked at 20:25.35. Gabrielle Janssen finished seventh in 21:11.34, while Hailey Foxhoven was tenth in a time of 21:29.60.

Isabelle Householder would earn 17th place with a 22:11.17 clocking, while Taylor Steinkamp finished in 26th place in 22:47.14. Raylene Poeppe would run a 23:14.52 to finish in 30th place and Mary Nelson finished in 72nd place with a 27:04.50 clocking.

In the girls Junior Varsity division, Emmetsburg's Allison Fischer finished fourth with a time of 24:16.95, while Esther Stroem would place 26th in 26:18.98. Hannah Merwald turned in a 27:36.20 clocking to place 39th and Maggie Nelson finished 65th in 31:02.04.

Middle Schoolers also competed on Saturday, and for Emmetsburg, Taytum Sargent would finish 29th in 15:39.25, while Isabelle Doyle finished 63rd in 18:51.08 and Katie Nelson was 80th in 27:34.32.

In the boys division, Emmetsburg would earn a seventh place finish in the team race with 195 points. Okoboji would win the Class B race with 55 points.

The E-Hawks would be led on Saturday by Dawson Moen's effort of 19:11.78, which was good for a 23rd place finish.

Adam Berkland finished 36th with a time of 19:38.77 and Adam Deitering was clocked in 19:44.02 to finish in 39th place.

Cade Jacobson would finish in 44th place with his 19:55.80 effort, while Zach Mason would finish in 80th place with a time of 21:15.33. Jacob Null was 84th in 21:25.01 and Jacob Frields finished in 85th place in a time of 21:39.87.

For the Junior Varsity boys, Emmetsburg was led by Brennan Duhn with a tie of 22:14.53, good for 69th place. Chris Nichols finished 79th in a time of 22:30.25, while Jordan Ruff was 90th in a time of 23:14.01. Jonah Hackbart-Morlock finished 121st in a time of 24:50.02 and Jackson Lowman finished 155th in a time of 30.01.85.

The Emmetsburg Middle School boys got a 13th place finish from Isaac Janssen with his time of 12:27.57, while Alex Laubenthal finished 69th ina time of 14:41.47 and Ryerson Boevers placed 101st in a time of 16:38.38.
