A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Trick was held on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. Reverend Eugene Murray officiated.

Interment was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Emmetsburg. Martin-Mattice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Josephine Trick, daughter of Joseph and Mary Alice (Conway) Myers, was born Sept. 21, 1934 in Emmetsburg. She received her education in Emmetsburg, graduating from Emmetsburg High School in 1952.

On June 29, 1953 Mary was united in marriage to Leonard Trick at Assumption Catholic Church in Emmetsburg.

Mary was a stay at home mom until 1967 when she began working at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. She continued working there for 17 years. She later worked at the Shamrock Bar, the Outlet Store and A.S.I.

Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Birthday Club and Garden Club. Mary served on the Residents Council at Lakeside Lutheran Home.

Mary was an avid bowler and had played on several leagues throughout her life.

Mary passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; brothers, Everett, James, and Robert Myers; daughter-in-law, Virginia Trick; grandson, Eric Trick; and great granddaughter, Hayley Trick.

She is survived by her children, Tim Trick of Lake Park, Cindy Wollum of Jesup, Kay (Mike) Wollum of Fargo, North Dakota and Pam (Alan) Bredehoeft of Dysart; 10 grandchildren, Dawn Trick, Andy (Ashley) Trick, Chad (Jane) Wollum, Christy (Josh) Weber, Joey (Haley) Wollum, Matt (Megan) Wollum, Brett (fianc, Jenny) Wollum, Tiffany (Kenny) Wollum, Brian (Vicki) Bredehoeft, and Brad (Katie) Bredehoeft; 13 great grandchildren, Trey, Caleb and Paige Truog, Jack and Cole Trick, Faith, Lydia and Selah Weber, Gwen Bredehoeft, Bayler Wollum, Karter Wollum, Greyson and Gavin Wollum; a special niece, Carol Tjelmeland of Emmetsburg.
