October 10, 2017
Emmetsburg News

Local celebrities are preparing to take to the dance floor to strut their stuff and boogie down to raise scholarship funds for Palo Alto county residents who attend any Iowa Lakes Community College campus.

The eight dancer teams include: Joe and Lisa Carter, Julie and Jade Beehler, Josh and Kelly Higgins-Bay, John Bird and Abby Caven, Andy and Kim Joyce, Chris and Kate Myers, Jenn Schnell and Phillip Schmitt, and Darrin and Hannah Adams.

Emcee and hostess for the event are Rick Bird and Dana Burdorf. Judges are Kirk Haack, Billie Jo Joyce, and Troy Zimmerman.

Two shows will be held at the Wild Rose Casino ballroom. Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24.

Everyone is encouraged to support local residents. Watch for your favorite team's fishbowl at various businesses prior to event.

Investing in the education provides area businesses with a skilled workforce and encourages business development. The student recipients are additionally motivated to complete their degrees as a result of others believing in them. More than 80 percent of Iowa Lakes graduates remain in the area and work, contributing to the local economy.

Tickets for event go on sale Nov. 1, and are expected to go quickly. All seating is reserved. Tables of eight are $400, with individual tickets available at $50. Price includes appetizers and desserts.

All proceeds from this event go toward scholarships for students who reside in Palo Alto County and attend Iowa Lakes Community College. These students appreciate the financial support as they pursue their education goals.
