Titan Netters Down Lady Wolverines

WEST?BEND - The post season will continue for Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven- Ayrshire's volleyball team. The Titans defeated West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate Tuesday night in Class 1A Regional tournament play.

The Titans would win the match 3-0 by game scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-20 to advance to a match against Bishop Garrigan at Bishop Garrigan High School Monday night, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m.

"The girls came out string and swinging hard," noted GT/RA Head Coach Ashley Dreeszen. "They did a great job at the net and what didn't get a block or a touch on, our back row was there to dig it up."

For Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire, Emma Heinrichs made 24 attacks and had one kill, while digging out nine shots and blocking one shot while completing 10 of 11 serves with one ace.

Toni Alesch made 22 attacks with 10 kills, while digging out three shots, blocking three shots and making 14 of 14 serves with four ace serves as well.

Kylea Fehr came away with 16 attacks and 10 kills on the night, and dug out 10 shots while making five of six serves with an ace.

Anna Sorenson would made 10 attacks in the match and had two kills, while digging out two shots and blocking a shot.

Madison Hough also made 10 attacks with three kills and dug out one shot with one block.

Taylor Park made three attacks and dug out 21 shots in the match, while making 17 of 17 serves with six ace serves on the night.

Madison Norris added three attacks on the night and dug out seven shots, while making 11 of 11 serves with two aces and also handed out 26 assists to her teammates.

Chloe Bakken rounded out the effort with three attacks and three digs, along with five of six serves with one ace.

"Toni Alesch had a great night as well as Kylea Fehr,"?Dreeszen noted. "Both wer putting the ball down. Alesch put up some great blocks and touches, as well as Maddie Hough. I was very proud of the way the girls played Tuesday night. They hustled after everything, and did a great job of communicating. We were able to put down some strong hits and put up some great blocks. They definitely came fired up and ready to play, and I think that really showed out on the court."
