Lady E-Hawk Netters End Season In Regional Opener

HARTLEY - The post season lasted one game for Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawk volleyball team. In their opening round of Class 2A Regional play on Tuesday, Emmetsburg fell to Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn by a 3-1 tally to end their season at 11-19 overall.

Game scores on Tuesday night were 25- 23, 22-25, 18-25 and 11-25.

Emmetsburg came out hustling in the opening match on Tuesday, and took an early lead, only to see Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn claw their way back into the match, cutting Emmetsburg's lead down to a point at 23-22, but the Lady E-Hawks would persevere to take the first set victory.

But in the second set, HMS began to find their front line and began to battle more effectively at the net as Emmetsburg began to struggle at the net. After falling to HMS 22-25 in game two, Emmetsburg would struggle to keep a steady flow in their game in the third contest as HMS led the entire contest to take the 25-18 win and then controlled the fourth and deciding game for the 25-11 win to end Emmetsburg's season.

Senior Parker Traub made 38 attacks and had 11 kills, with 14 assists, and made seven of 12 serves with one ace.

Molly Schany added 31 attacks with nine kills and dug out three shots while blocking three shots.

Abbie Schany would come away with 15 attacks and five kills on the night, while adding 11 digs.

Senior Emma Anderson would also make 13 attacks with five kills, and added one dig and a blocked shot, while handing out three assists to her teammates.

Morgan Jamison made 13 attacks and connected on 12 of 13 service attempts.

Gretchen Hofstad wold make five attacks with one kill and dug out nine shots while blocking one shot, and handed out two assists, as well as completing 11 of 14 serves with an ace.

Lindsay Carter made 12 of 14 serves with two aces and dug out 10 shots, while Macy McAllister had three digs and 12 of 12 serves with 11 assists and Molly McCain made nine of 11 serves to close out the Lady E-Hawks' season.
