Garret James Wassom (18) of Spencer and Konner Jay Mills (18) of Ayrshire are awaiting trial for an incident that occurred on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 460th Ave. (Highway 4) and 420th St. (B53 or the Ayrshire Highway).

Both men are each charged with two counts of Attempt to Commit Murder (Class B Felonies), one count of Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony by Planning or Commission (Class C Felony) and one count Going Armed With Intent (Class D Felony).

Trial information was submitted by Palo Alto County Attorney Peter Hart and was reviewed and approved by Don E. Courtney, District Court Judge for the Third Judicial District of Iowa.

The charges stem from a report filed by Christian Eberle (20) of Albert City of shots being fired at a vehicle at the intersection of 460th Avenue and 420th Street. During the incident Eberle was struck by a bullet. After an initial investigation, Wassom and Mills were arrested at a residence in Spencer on Friday, Nov. 17. Bond was set at $250,000.

If convicted each man could face up to 65 years in prison.

A trial date has not been set at this time. All persons are innocent until proven otherwise.
